                         Seabirds Masterclass Cruises

Picture

One of the best seawatching routes in Scottish Waters.
We join the CalMac ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway for a non-landing sea-watching cruise out across the Minch and back. Many people struggle with seabird ID so this is an excellent opportunity for a masterclass in ID. The crossing departs at 10.30am with a non-landing stop in Stornoway before we arrive back in Ullapool at about 16.30. Arrival back in Grantown on Spey then approx 7pm.

Black Guillemot, Puffin, all four Skuas are possible, Sooty and Manx Shearwaters, Storm &Leach's Petrel, Terns as well as many other seabirds can be expected. Common, Risso's, Bottle-nosed as well as other rarer species of Dolphin are often spotted and even a chance of Minke Whale. A superb day out at sea in the comfort of a modern ferry, facilities include viewing lounge, cafe and restaurant should you wish to take a break from scanning from the deck.
